Bareboat charter registration
Also called Dual registration, it is usually performed by the ship charterer, and the purpose to have another flag while keep the vessel’s new flag
For the new flag it is called charter in and for the old flag it is called charter out
The bare boat charter registration is usually valid for the same validity of the first registration, and taxes for the whole period is paid in advance at the time of registration
It requires beside the regular registration docuemtns to submit the charter party (charter contract)
All regular certificates re issued in the bareboat charter registration such as: certificate of registry, Ship station license, minimum safe manning, continuous synopsis record, DMLC PI and more
Special registration for delivery
Special registration for delivery as the name indicate is done when a vessel is sold to a new owner and the new owner requests temporary registration to deliver the vessel to a specific port
Usually the certificates validity is 3 months but can be extended for another 3 months if delivery is delayed
Certificates issued in this process are only certificates of registration and for some flags they issue full set of certificates
Special registration for domilition
Special registration for domination or scrap is done for a period of 3 months until the vessel reach the scrap yard for domilition, sometimes on its own engines and sometimes tugged by a tug boat
Usually the certificates validity is 3 months but can be extended for another 3 months if delivery is delayed
Certificates issued in this process are only certificates of registration and for some flags they issue full set of certificates
Special registration for domilition
This is done for fishing vessels only, it is similar to regular registration but for fishing vessels.
usually fishing vessels registration are not performed by most flag as fishing operation might include difficulties international between countries marine boarders and jurisdiction
Fishing vessels after registration must obtain a fishing license from the flag
