Deletion certificate

Deletion certificate is required when vessel needs to change flag so old flag must be cancelled (deleted)

Usually CSR is also deleted with the registry and special deleted or ceased  CSR is issued

Deletion certificate must be notarized before it is submitted in original to the new flag

Usually flag states can start provisional registration before the vessel is deleted from previous flag and then before provisional registration expire, deletion certificate must be obtained from previous flag states and submitted to the new flag state

Time required for the issuance of deletion certificate varies and depends on flag state, some flag takes as short as three days up to one month in some flag states
